Squad Ratings: The Three Lions Win Sealed by Kane's Brace in International Qualifier
In a dominant display, the English national team secured another victory versus their opponents, with multiple squad members turning in standout displays on the pitch.
Starting XI
Dean Henderson Not a save to perform during the opening 45 until called into action from an opponent's curling effort. A sliding intervention against an Albanian attacker demonstrated his anticipation. Six out of ten
Jarell Quansah Tested against the opposition's main danger through Hoxha. Started in a central role to begin with later drifted to the flank after Saka was introduced. 7
The defender Moved up the pitch when in possession, a familiar role previously. At times lacked urgency when carrying play with the tactic abandoned at half-time. 6/10
The tall defender Always dangerous on corners and free-kicks, as always, but may be an alternative to Stones in defense instead of paired with him. A careless pass after the break came close to the first goal from the visitors. 6
Nico O’Reilly A further confident performance by the rising star following his initial appearance against another side. Saka failed to make the opportunity from a gorgeous backheel over the opposing backline. The role looks secure already. 7/10
Adam Wharton His maiden beginning with the national team. Slightly sloppy when playing out though his dangerous corners were a threat. A handy game manager available to the manager to utilize against teams who drop deep. Booked for a poorly timed tackle. 6/10
The midfielder Crosses from dead balls and free kicks caused problems. Had license to drift on the left only to be offside when the ball arrived with a chance to score. Given a merited break on the hour mark. 6/10
Jude Bellingham Played in an advanced spot down the right and put in dirty work. Demonstrated flashes of quality and dragged an attempt high. Withdrawn towards the end by Rogers, a fellow player, following a yellow card. Seven
The winger Was presented with England’s clearest opportunity of the first half, his effort well saved from the opposing goalkeeper. With a teammate holding position, he was forced to provide width on the right although his balls into the box varied in quality. Substituted with 15 to go. Six
Harry Kane The decisive figure netting 77th and 78th strikes at international level. The first a typical close-range tap-in and the second a superb header having drifted away away from the opposition. Now 32, his form is unwavering and the side stand a real opportunity next summer with him leading the line. 8
The attacker Had difficulty to make an impact on the left flank. Was presented with a decent opportunity when set up by the midfielder however Strakosha kept it out. His replacement made much more of an impact after coming on. 5/10
