The British government is ready to advance with employing the total value of immobilized Russia's assets to bolster the Ukrainian military campaign, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has declared.

In a joint statement, the leaders of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany asserted that this joint measure would heighten pressure on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and persuade Moscow to engage in negotiations.

They further noted that the initiative would be implemented in strong partnership with the America.

United Kingdom penalties have immobilized over £25bn of Russian funds since Moscow began its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, until now, money allocated to Ukraine using Russian funds had only been sourced from profits and interest earned on them.

Sir Keir told Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany were in agreement in their desire to advance efforts toward using the complete amount of the immobilized Russian sovereign assets to end the war.

He added that additional measures soon would increase the strain on the Russian government.

This announcement is subsequent to European officials met in Copenhagen recently to debate utilizing immobilized Russia's holdings for a €140 billion credit to Ukraine.

Recently, President Donald Trump called on G7 allies to seize or otherwise use frozen Russia's funds, based on news outlets.

The value of frozen Russian holdings in the Europe is assessed to be nearly €211bn.

President Zelensky urges Britain's Sir Keir Starmer to join the Purl initiative

Moscow carried out extensive aerial attacks across the Ukrainian territory on Friday, resulting in power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the city, and several other zones.

Several persons were lost their lives and at least 20 people were hurt in the strike, the Ukrainian government said.

In a message on social media following the attack, Zelensky stated that the strategic strike targeted public and utility structures.

"What is required is not empty words but concrete steps - from the America, Europe, and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," he stated.

"Each restrictive measure weakens Russia's war machine," Zelensky declared, in a separate post.

Additionally that day, Zelensky stated to reporters he would encourage Sir Keir to participate in the PURL programme, under which Nato countries purchase arms from the US to provide to the Ukrainian forces.

While applauding the Britain's strong support for the Ukrainian government, he remarked it should demonstrate clearly that it would take part in the system, as well as apply further restrictions on the Russian Federation.
